Padstow Under 7's 0 Wadebridge 15

Friday 14th March

On straight after were the under 7's. An 8a side game with Brandon, Izzey, Jack P, Harry, Rosie, Ben G, Joseph C and Imogen in the green shirts.
Unfortunately Wadebridge proved too experinced for us and started to score a number of times.
Jack P showed he has a future as centre half with some good tackles.
In the second half Joseph C made some good saves.
Everyone kept going to the end and did well for their first game.

Padstow Under 8's 2 Wadebridge 2

Friday 14th March

The eagerley awaited under 8's and under 7's friendlies against Wadebridge(there are no such thing as friendlies against Wadebridge) got under way after school on Friday 14th March.

The under 8's went on first represented by Josh D, Cameron C, Tom G, Tom T, Robbie D, James B, Fraser and Ben M.
They burst into action and quickly took the lead. Tom T ran straight at the Wadebridge defence, beat three players and slotted the ball home.
This was matched not long after from a goal by Fraser (a shot from the half-way line).
Josh D in goal was unlucky with a couple of efforts from Wadebridge which made it 2-2.
Wadebridge had 16 players and completely changed their team at half time. Padstow got tired but battled to the end and 2-2 was the final score.

Camelford 0 Padstow 3

On a very muddy pitch at Camelford it was good to see the under 8's come away with a 3-0 win. The midfield of Frazer, Robbie and Tom T put in a lot of hard work in what were very difficult conditions.  Cameron looked comfortable in goal and we did not look like conceding. Unfortunately we did not have the fire power up front to score. But manager Rob (a master tactician of the game) had a master plan!

Manager Rob held back top striker Ben W until the second half, at nil nil we needed some goals and he did not let us down. In a ten minute spell Padstow were 3 up with Ben (Raleigh Close) W scoring 2 and having one shot deflected in. Thanks to good contributions from Ben Mc and Josh D, Rob could even afford to take Ben W off again (to prevent any unnecessary injuries).

An excellent performance all round, which the under 8's should be proud off. Well done, you done us all proud.
